The objective of the congress is to regulate good postal practices, the presentation of projects in favor of UPAEP member countries and the implementation of standards for the proper use of the postal service at the national level.
Our director Erick Guzman, thanks the reception and the attentions of the congress authorities, especially Mr. Mashaiko Metoki, director general of the Universal Postal Union (UPU) (@upu_un) and Mr. Franklin Castro, secretary general of the UPAEP.
Our institution participated in the 2nd Fair of Good Practices of University Extension and Culture of the Northern Region at the sports center of the Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra (@pucmm).
The activity was held with the initiative of the Vice Minister of Extension, Maria Lopez led by the Minister of Mescyt (@mescytrd), Franklin Garcia Fermin also had Cecilio Espinal, rector of the PUCMM, Luisa Jimenez, governor for the province of La Vega and special envoys.
As part of the commemoration of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, our institution organized a talk with the slogan: A Life without Violence, aimed at all staff.

Marcos Diaz graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Science and Letters from Colegio Dominicano de la Salle. Diaz has a degree in Business Administration and a Masters in Marketing from the Instituto Tecnologico de Santo Domingo (INTEC), in addition to a business internship in New York, USA.
His passion for sports and challenges led him to experiment with more challenging and less traditional disciplines such as Triathlon. With this modality he had the opportunity to represent the country in a Caribbean Circuit and other international races.
From the practice of triathlon Marcos discovered his interest in long-distance, endurance and endurance sports, showing special attention for open water swimming. Since then he began to experiment and excel in this modality of swimming by participating in swims of between one mile and three kilometers. These first swims, his love for the sea and his passion for the sport at the highest level, pushed him to develop an impressive sports career in ultra-distance open water swimming.

Une étude sur l’impact de l’UNESCO et de la Banque interaméricaine de développement dans les processus de revalorisation des centres historiques latino-américains et caribéens le cas de la zone coloniale de Santo Domingo
Estudio del impacto de la UNESCO y del Banco Interamericano de Desarrollo en los procesos de revalorización de los centros históricos latinoamericanos y caribeños: El Caso de la Zona Colonial de Santo Domingo (República Dominicana).
Existen numerosos estudios de caso y obras colectivas que buscaban una mayor comprensión de los procesos de revitalización de los centros históricos latinoamericanos. En esta documentación, los centros históricos caribeños son casi inexistentes excluyendo La Habana y Cartagena. Asimismo, se ha sub-explorado el impacto de los organismos internacionales como la Organización de las Naciones Unidas para la Educación, la Ciencia y la Cultura y el Banco Interamericano de Desarrollo profundamente involucrados en estos procesos de revitalización. En este contexto, según la hipótesis planteada, el impacto de dichos organismos no sólo se limita a la financiación de la revitalización y a la promoción de un tipo de gestión centrada en la eficiencia y la sostenibilidad económica. Implica también una dimensión normativa y valorativa de la gestión urbana promoviendo y condicionando esquemas de normalización, homogeneización y profesionalización. Para validar/invalidar la hipótesis, el artículo ha seleccionado el estudio de caso de la zona colonial de Santo Domingo, capital de la República Dominicana.
